It was very well located in a quiet aerea very close to the main square of Cusco. The staff was very friendly and welcoming.
It seemed to me that the carpet in the hotel was completaly dirty. It didn't look like dirty, but as soon as I got into the room, I started being ill. My nose started bleeding and I had my throat stuck. I tried to change to a room with no carpet but there were only two at the hotel and they were full. I had to buy alergy pills in order to sleep.
the breakfast buffet was exellent. The staff was very helpful. The lobby and courtyard were tasteful and elegant.
The rooms should have more period appointments. Too Motel 8 utilitarian.
Good location, clean rooms and friendly staff (who were happy to let me practice my spanish on them even though they spoke perfect english)
Ordinary hotel, which should be ranked as 3 stars.
They charged me in the local currency, however the rate of exchange they used was a very low 2.5 Soles instead of the official 2.90.
Perfect location near centre of town attractions, yet quiet. Beautiful colonial building to which a more modern facility has been added. I stayed in the "Colonial" section which offered high ceiling, nicely appointed rooms and satellite TV.Friendly, responsive staff. Excellent breakfast included with my rate. One day a local harpist played soft Andean music while we ate. The hotel seemed rather empty perhaps due to being the rainy season or perhaps due to the early departure of guests wanting to catch the sunrise at Machu-Picchu. This hotel is devoid of the most common difficulties found by reviewers of Cusco hotels: lack of hot water, cold and noisy rooms or weak coffee!
The exhaust fan in the windowless bathroom did not work and could not be fixed due to lack of parts or a replacement unit (but I got this explanation within 1 hour of alerting the front desk of the situation)
Our flight was canceled so we need to look for a hotel, this hotel was the first choice because of the price in Booked.net, aswe already passed by it, we thought it was a good one, so we decided to give it a chance. Our first hotel taypikala was not good at all! Costa del sol, was thousand way better!! The room and bathroom were clean, new and comfortable. For only 20 dollars more than taypikala you stay in a much better hotel! The breakfast is excellent, there are many options and the restaraunt is really good, the waiters are very friendly and the place is pleasant! A very good thing also, is that they can charge the fees in your credit card in dollars because other places charge you in soles with an absurd exchange rate!
No, we really like this hotel and recommend it!
Great Place to wind down after a long journey to Cusco Clean comfortable and I would return to this Hotel Staff was excellent
The breakfeast buffet was nice. The hotel was located a block away from plaza de armas.
Worst stay in our trip so far. We were given a double bedroom as we requested in our reservation, but soon after settling in the room, the man at the reception called us saying we had to change for a twin room because the room was booked for someone else. Despite i showed my Booked.net reservation, he maintained that in the hotel systems we were booked for another room. He did not apologize nor offered any compensation for the hassle nor did he try to diffuse the situation. We asked to see the manager but he was away for 2 hours and we never saw him. Booked.net solved the situation for us and we were able to keep the room. However for the price it was not a good deal. The hotel was undergoing renovations and our room was not cleanly finished, with traces of paint on appliances. What a shame for a ramada hotel. Their customercare service was as useless as the front desk man. If you look for something a bit luxurious and warm/cosy in Cuzco, you won't find it at the ramada.
Clean, friendly, comfortable, beautiful setting. Would return to this hotel, highly recommended
Building work ongoing within the building, however, a minor issue
Excellent location. Good services. The food in the hotel is terrible. People from reception is fantastic
The food is bad. I asked somethings but it is not good
Excellent hotel, we had to wait at check-in, so were given a lovely room right on the courtyard with a jacuzzi. Staff were very accomodating and allowed us to use the bar well after their listed closing time.
Requested a late check-out (as the night before was our wedding night)... One staff member said this would be no problem, yet on the morning of check-out, the receptionist insisted we would have to be out by 11am or pay another full day.
The location of the hotel was ideal for exploring the city.
The particular room I stayed in was a littled frayed around the edges and could use some updating. I noticed that there were some extensive renovations to rooms in progress on other floors so perhaps I just got one of the older rooms.
Picoaga is a very charming hotel in an old monestary. Great value and walkable to the main square, shopping, restaurants, banks, etc. The staff was very attentive and the rooms are spacious with modern bathroom facilities. The hotel courtyard is something out of a movie set with cobble stone flooring, arches, etc. My room was right off of the courtyard. The hotel is very safe and they allowed us to store our bags while we trekked the Royal Inca Trail.
Court Yard and location in city.
Street side rooms are very noisy.
Very friendly staff! Very nice rooms and a great breakfast, especially for peruvian conditions!
